Hugh Holmes is a Writer/Director/Editor whose work places ordinary people inside extraordinary realizations — intimately scaled character dramas with a cosmic underbelly. He has written and directed several shorts, including USC junior thesis you're doing great and is currently developing his debut feature Birdbath, a character study of a former classical prodigy living a second life on the edge of an Alaskan lake. Hugh recently 1st AD'd Rhys Zemeckis's Nuns with Guns, which had its world premiere at the Oscar-qualifying Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and last summer worked under Marc Platt as a development intern at Marc Platt Productions, supporting Wicked: For Good and How to Train Your Dragon (2025)

On the commercial side, he has spent six years cutting paid social and brand work — currently as Senior Video Editor at Zipped. A Digital Agency, and as a Video Editor for Paid Creative, after a stint as Creative Director at menswear brand birddogs, where multiple of his ads hit a company-record 65% hook rate. A graduating senior at USC's School of Cinematic Arts, he dreams of writing and directing features that hold cosmic scale and intimate character drama in the same frame.
